About the Project

The challenges of attaining quality education and skill development in India hinder the nation's growth. Efforts are needed to ensure access to education and skills as crucial foundations for development. Addressing these benchmarks of progress enables self-sustainability and equal development, playing a pivotal role in advancing our society

To enhance the employability skills of graduating students, the ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu in association with Tamil Nadu Innovation Initiative (TANII) introduces a Hackathon initiative. This program aims to empower 500 faculty members and 10,000 graduating students from higher education institutions in Tamil Nadu by providing them with project-based learning opportunities that focus on technical and professional skills

  • To mentor 10,000 students on professional skills and technical skills to successfully accomplish project-based learning

Selection Criteria

The students nominated preferably must not have any arrears. Students who have 1 arrear can be considered.

The students nominated must have aggregated 60% and above CGPA as of the 4th Semester marks

The students must be below the family annual income bracket of less than Rs. 3.5 Lakhs

Principal

  • Roles & Responsibilities
    1. Authority at the college level to drive this Program.
    2. Recommend & approve the registered list of College SPOCs, Faculty mentors & Faculty evaluators.
    3. Access to the college-level dashboards & Leader board to monitor the status of the program

    College SPOC

  • Roles & Responsibilities
    1. Will be the single point of contact for all the college/department-level communication
    2. Shall work with college-level mentors and evaluators for the smooth execution of the program
    3. Shall Approve the enrolled students' teams to enable the project workspace
    4. Can bring any queries to the notice of program administrators
  • How to Select/Nominate
    1. Nominate one from each department/branch
    2. Senior Faculty who can guide this program at the department level

    Faculty Mentors

  • Roles & Responsibilities
    1. Faculty mentors will be coordinating with student teams to ensure:
      • Attendance of students for training
      • Completion of assignments
      • Completion of project activities by the team
    2. Faculty mentors will be the first point of contact for the student teams for any queries

    1. Principal to nominate one for each department/branch for every 30 students
    2. Faculty who is hands-on with technology

    Faculty Evaluator

  • Roles & Responsibilities
    1. Faculty evaluators oversee:
      • Evaluating project deliverables submitted by student teams and scoring them based on evaluation metrics
      • The Evaluation can be done physically/face to face at the campus
  • How to Select/Nominate
    1. Principal to nominate one for each department/branch for every 30 students
    2. Faculty members who have experience with CS/IT domain

    ICT Academy

    ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu is an initiative of the Government of India, the Government of Tamil Nadu, and Industries. ICT Academy is a not-for-profit society, the first of its kind pioneer venture under the Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model that endeavours to train higher education teachers and students thereby exercising on developing the next generation of teachers and industry-ready students.

    ICT Academy was started to meet the skill requirements of the industry and generate more employment, especially in tier 2 and 3 towns, the rural parts of the country. The organization was formed with representations from the State Government of Tamil Nadu, leading companies in the ICT industry and the National Association of Software Services Companies (NASSCOM) in India.
