India Design Week (IDW) 2025: The Largest Design Event for Budding Engineers

India Design Week (IDW) 2025 is a premier platform for aspiring engineers to showcase their creativity and problem-solving skills. In this 6th edition, student participants will come together to design innovative solutions for real-world challenges, using Autodesk FUSION software as a key tool in their journey.

For the first time, IDW 2025 will be held simultaneously in two zones—North and South India, broadening its reach and impact. Open exclusively to students from ICT Academy member Engineering Colleges and Universities across the country, this event is designed to nurture young talent and immerse them in the complete product design process.

IDW 2025 is powered by Autodesk and proudly organised by ICT Academy.

This Design Event provides an opportunity for students to convert their Conceptual Ideas into Digital Products with the help of Autodesk FUSION. Registered Students can give their design ideas a jump-start by sculpting their imagination and innovation with technical support from the best minds in the country

Background

Design remains a crucial discipline, even amid the disruptive changes driven by technology. It will continue to be a core human endeavour, fuelled by insights, ideas, passion, and the talents of individuals striving for progress. Innovation and creativity are the key ingredients of design, leading to scalable solutions that can transform every field in our nation.

India Design Week 2025 will bring together students to showcase their ideas for a better future through products developed using Autodesk FUSION.

Note: A specific design theme will be revealed on the day of the event.

IDW 2025

Institution Registration

Colleges will be selected from each state (from north and south India separately)

Institutions must ensure that they meet the required Hardware and Software for this Event, and domain mail ID is mandatory.

The institution will provide the eligible students list who are interested in Product Design from 2nd year, pre-final year & final Year of the Mechanical stream including Automobile, Aeronautical, Agriculture, CAD/CAM and Bio-Medical.

For every college 1 Mentor for 25 students is mandatory for the training and all mentors are to be present in the final IDW 2025

Student Workshop

Students will learn Autodesk FUSION through Workshops (Day-1, 2 and 3 of the student workshops will be conducted directly at the respective institutions) and design academy courses are to be completed after the end of each workshop

Workshops will be conducted by ICT Academy Certified Experts

Activities & Assignments will be provided after each session which students need to complete to gain a certificate.

Design Now Competition

The Design Now Competition is a 1-Day exclusive competition Conducted in Each College, Top teams in each college selected at the end of student event.

Students will present their design, which will be evaluated by the Jury panel based on Creativity, Design Specifications, Manufacturing Feasibility, Material Selection & Presentation

The best team from each college are eligible to compete in the IDW 2025 Grand Finale in their respective zone.

India Design Week - 2025

2 Inter-state level events (North and South India zones) will be conducted in the month of April 2025

The top teams from the selected colleges will compete in a 24-hour challenge based on the provided problem statement

Teams will present their final design based on the provided Theme

The top 3 teams from each zone selected by the jury panel will be recognised with Prizes

Special recognition will be given to teams that stand out in certain criteria

PC/Laptop is mandated with functional Microphone and Webcam
Microsoft Windows 8 or above (Windows 10 is recommended), Mac IOS also supports FUSION
CPU: 64-bit Operating System only supports FUSION installation (32-bit OS is not compatible with FUSION installation, but can run FUSION in Browser mode)
Memory Size: Min 4 GB (8 GB is recommended)
Connectivity: 5 Mbps internet bandwidth
Storage space: 5GB is recommended to install the FUSION
Graphics Card: Min 512 MB is required, or 1 GB inbuilt graphics card is recommended
