About

India Design Week (IDW) 2024 is the largest Design Event for budding engineers who will come together to learn and design for various problem statement.

The 5th Edition of IDW 2024 event aims to foster young talent minds in technical design and expose them to all aspects of product design process using the Autodesk FUSION software. IDW 2024 is open for ICT Academy member Engineering Colleges & Universities across India. This event is powered by Autodesk and organized by ICT Academy.

Registered Students can give their design ideas a jump-start by sculpting their imagination and innovation with technical support from the best minds of the country

Background

Design plays an important role, even in the midst of disruptive changes brought by technology, design will continue to be a fundamental human endeavour, fuelled by insights, ideas, passion, and talents of people in the pursuit of progress. Designing requires ingredients like innovation, insights and ideas that will provide scalable solutions and thereby bring transformation to every field of our Nation. India Design Week 2024 will bring students together to share their ideas for better Future with their products developed using Autodesk FUSION .

Note: Specific design theme will be revealed on the day of the event.

PROCESS

INSTITUTION REGISTRATION

colleges will be selected from each state (Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Delhi NCR, Jammu and Kashmir, West Bengal and Maharashtra)
Institutions must ensure that they meet the required Hardware and Software for this Event and domain mail id is mandatory.
Institution will provide the eligible students list who are interested in Product Design from 2nd year, Pre final year & Final Year from Mechanical stream includes Automobile, Aeronautical, Agriculture, CAD/CAM and Bio-Medical.
For every college 1 Mentor for 25 students is mandatory for the training and all mentors to be present in the final IDW 2024

STUDENT WORKSHOP

Students will learn Autodesk FUSION through Workshops (3 sessions will be conducted exclusive for your institution) and design academy courses to be completed after end of each workshop
Workshops is conducted by ICT Academy Certified Experts
Activities & Assignments will be provided after each session which students need to complete to gain a certificate.
Top 100 teams from each state/region will be finalized at the end of the workshop through successful project submission & assessments to participate in the Design Now Competition.

DESIGN NOW COMPETITION PRE - FINALS

Design Now competition Pre-Finals is a 1-Day exclusive Inter College competition for Institutions
Top 100 teams will present their design, which will be evaluated by the Jury panel based on Creativity, Design Specifications, Manufacturing Feasibility, Material Selection & Presentation
Among that Top 10 teams from each region will be shortlisted through initial screening from all state/regions by the jury panel and are eligible to compete in the Design Now Regional Finals

DESIGN NOW REGIONAL FINALS

Design Now Regional Finals is a 1-Day exclusive Inter College competition for the Top 10 teams selected in Design Now Regional Pre – Finals
Students will present their design, which will be evaluated by the Jury panel based on Creativity, Design Specifications, Manufacturing Feasibility, Material Selection & Presentation
Among that Top 3 teams from each region will be selected by the jury panel are eligible to compete in the IDW 2024 Grand Finale

INDIA DESIGN WEEK - 2024

A National Level event will be conducted in the month of July 2024
Teams will present their final design based on the provided Theme
Top 3 teams selected by jury panel will be recognized with Prizes

Pre Requisite

System Configuration

PC/Laptop is mandate with functional Microphone and Webcam
Microsoft Windows 8 or above (Windows 10 is recommended), Mac IOS also supports FUSION
CPU: 64 bit Operating System only supports FUSION installation (32 bit OS is not compatible for FUSION installation, but can run FUSION in Browser mode)
Memory Size: Min 4 GB (8 GB is recommended)
Connectivity: 5 Mbps internet bandwidth
Storage space: 5GB is recommended to install the FUSION
Graphics Card: Min 512 MB is required or 1 GB inbuilt graphics card is recommended
Optical mouse with functional keyboard

Note: Students having a system with above requirement are eligible to register for the IDW 2024
