India has the second-largest internet user base and has a large amount of sensitive data such as credit card numbers and bank details stored online on various connected devices. While digitalization is rapidly increasing, even more in the time of COVID-19, the vulnerability towards cyber threats is also rising. In addition, the world is moving towards a massive skill shortage in the cybersecurity industry.
To meet the rising skill shortage and create more cybersecurity awareness, CISCO has partnered with ICT Academy to create cybersecurity awareness and provide cybersecurity skills training to the students of higher education institutions. The program aims to benefit 20,200 students in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Assam.
For 20 years, the Cisco Networking Academy has changed the lives of over 10 million students in 180 countries by providing education, technical training, and career mentorship. In India alone, more than 300,000 students have been upskilled and prepared to join the workforce.
