About the Program

The TN Skill Vetri Nichayam Scheme, launched by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru M. K. Stalin, is a flagship initiative aimed at upskilling unemployed youth and enhancing their employability in today’s competitive job market. The scheme is designed for unemployed youths, fresh graduates, ITI and diploma holders, as well as school dropouts who are in immediate need of placement opportunities.

The scheme delivers 150 hours of intensive training, focusing on practical, industry-relevant skills that maximise employment potential.

ICT Academy’s Role

As a trusted training partner, ICT Academy plays a pivotal role in executing this mission. The collaboration between ICT Academy and TN Skill was formally launched at the 65th edition of ICT Academy Bridge 2025, Coimbatore, in the esteemed presence of Dr. Palanivel Thiaga Rajan, Hon’ble Minister for Information Technology and Digital Services, Government of Tamil Nadu.


Under this partnership, ICT Academy is committed to training 20,000 unemployed youth in IT and digital skills, paving the way for their successful entry into the workforce. This initiative not only addresses the employability gap but also reinforces Tamil Nadu’s vision of creating a skilled, future-ready workforce and fostering inclusive growth across the state.

About ICT Academy

ICT Academy is an initiative of the Government of India in collaboration with the state Governments and Industries. ICT Academy is a not-for-profit society, the first of its kind pioneer venture under the Public-Private-Partnership (PPP) model that endeavours to train higher education teachers and students, thereby exercising on developing the next-generation teachers and industry-ready students.


ICT Academy was started to meet the skill requirements of the industry and generate more employment, especially in tier 2 and 3 towns, the rural parts of the country. The organisation was formed with representations from the State Government of Tamil Nadu, leading companies in the ICT industry and the National Association of Software Services Companies (NASSCOM) in India.


Through its various initiatives, ICT Academy has been part of strengthening India's four important visions on Skill India, Digital India, Startup India, and Make in India.
