The spread of information and communication technologies in every industry is changing the skills needed by workers. This shift in skills is creating more job options but also making it harder for disadvantaged groups. Nowadays, having basic ICT skills is crucial for those starting their careers or looking for better jobs. Companies see a workforce with ICT skills as an asset that boosts economic growth, enhances competitiveness, and increases business productivity.

To create an employable talent pool and generate more employment in India's tier 2, tier 3 and rural regions, ICT Academy, in association with Mphasis, organises the Advanced IT Skill Training Program. This program aims to train underprivileged students from engineering, arts, and science institutions in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu on IT skills by establishing a Centre of Excellence. ICT Academy will facilitate placements for the certified beneficiaries after the completion of the program, thereby creating more employment for underprivileged students.

130 hours of advanced training in IT skills and soft skills

Training 2 faculty per institution to be mentors

Hands-on instructor-led training

Joint certification by ICT Academy & Mphasis

Activities of COE

Empowering students in technology

50 students per institution will be trained in a specific advanced technology course

Creating Faculty Mentors

Two faculty members per institution will be trained in the advanced technology and recognized as mentors for the students.

Expert volunteering and mentoring sessions

To inspire and guide students on how to navigate the job market Subject Matter Experts and Leaders from Mphasis will take part in volunteering sessions thereby mentoring students.

Assessment and Certification

An online assessment will be conducted, and students will be awarded joint certification by Mphasis & ICT Academy.

Placement Facilitation

Exclusive placement drives for the certified students.

Expression of Interest for Institutional Partnership

Final-year students of engineering, arts & science colleges located in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka can partner in this initiative. This initiative will benefit 50 deserving students from each college.
