Overview

The Educators Workshop, this workshop on Electric Vehicle System-Level Modeling and Simulation covers a range of exercises that introduce the learner to topics such as vehicle modeling, vehicle dynamics, power electronics, motor simulation and control, battery modeling and management, thermal management and system-level modeling. Also, this workshop can be taught by the faculty to make students industry-ready by developing applied skills in the area of electrification and prepare a foundation of skills in modeling and simulation that would be useful for a research and design (R&D) career.

Two Academicians from EEE/ECE/Mechanical/Automotive

Educators Workshop Pre-Requisite:

1. Pre-requisites for 5 Day Workshop Attendees:

a. For Faculty with minimum 2 years teaching experience

i. Knowledge of first principles of Mathematics and Physics, such as solving Ordinary Differential Equations (ODEs)

ii. Basic Knowledge of Control Systems

iii. Basic Knowledge of Power Electronics (Circuits & Semiconductors)

iv. Basic Knowledge of Electrical Machines (Motors & Inverters)

v. (Recommended) Some familiarity with programming in high-level language such as MATLAB

b. Suggested Resources to go through before starting:

i. MATLAB Onramp course (free, online self-paced)

ii. Simulink Onramp course (free, online self-paced)


2. License access to the Educator Workshop Attendees during & after the workshop (additional two months) will be taken care of by MathWorks team.
