Tamil Nadu, the hub of culture, arts, and tradition, has always been agile in adapting to the changing eras. The state has evolved with time from innovation in arts to innovation in technology. Innovation can be nurtured only by creating environments for ideas to get developed

To foster innovation amidst the younger generation, the ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu has come up with 'Ideathon 2023' for the students of higher education institutions in the state of Tamil Nadu. It aims to nurture students' entrepreneurial skills and presents an opportunity for students to showcase their innovative technology-oriented business ideas state-wide. Ideathon is a platform to facilitate their business plan by discussing with the leading technology experts and entrepreneurs

IDEATHON 2023

How to Apply?

  • Prepare a technology business idea
  • Register online for the ideathon and you will receive the login credentials through email
  • Prepare a persuasive content
  • Record a 5-minute video of your business pitch
  • Upload the video in your YouTube Channel (Mark it as 'Unlisted Video' while uploading)
  • Update your YouTube video link with us, using the login credentials provided.

    Ideathon Process

    Apply Online

    Students pursuing full time graduation (UG/PG) across the state can register online along with YouTube link containing 5-minute video of his/her business presentation recorded

    Initial Screening

    Top 25 will be shortlisted through initial screening (based on 5-minute video submitted by contestants through YouTube).

    Pre-Finals

    Out of 25, Top 10 will be shortlisted in pre-finals. The pre-finals will happen through a virtual live presentation. (not a recorded video)

    Grand Finale

    Top 10 will compete in the Grand Finale scheduled on 25 March 2023 at Umagine Chennai 2023, a Technology, Entrepreneurship & Skills Summit. Each contestant will do direct presentation in front of the industry jury and audience

    Instructions while submitting video

    • Record your presentation in the indoor with the best possible lighting
    • Create a clear presentation space. Remove all unnecessary or distracting items from the speaking background.
    • Record the video in the plain background in the calm environment.
    • Place camera at 5-7 feet distance from the speaker (if it's mobile)
    • Use the horizontal angle while recording.
    • Record video in a standing posture.
    • Place the camera according to the speaker height and try to shoot without shake.
    • Try to shoot the video in the calm surrounding to avoid noise.
    • No cuts. No editing of the recorded video.
    • Upload the final best video in YouTube and save as unlisted video.

    Rules & Regulations

  • 1. Each team shall comprise a maximum of 2 members
  • 2. If the quality of the video and audio is not good the submission may get rejected
  • 3. The video should be recorded indoor, in the calm environment with plain background
  • 4. The speaker should be in the standing pose
  • 5. No external videos should be embedded/shown in the submitted video
