About the Program

Empowering the Next Generation of Design Innovators

India Design Week (IDW) 2027 is a national-level platform that inspires engineering students to transform ideas into impactful design solutions through innovation, creativity, and technology. In its 10th edition, IDW 2027 will bring together aspiring engineers from across the country to solve real-world challenges using Autodesk technologies.

The event will feature specialized learning and competition tracks in Fusion and Revit Architecture, enabling students to gain hands-on exposure to industry-relevant design tools and workflows. Through faculty mentoring, workshops, activity-based learning, and competitive challenges, participants will experience the complete journey from concept to creation.

IDW 2027 will be conducted across North and South India, expanding opportunities for students to collaborate, innovate, and showcase their talents before academic and industry experts.

Open exclusively to students from ICT Academy member Engineering Colleges and Universities, India Design Week 2027 aims to nurture future-ready talent and strengthen the culture of design-driven engineering education in India.

IDW 2027 is powered by Autodesk and proudly organized by ICT Academy.

This Design Event provides an opportunity for students to convert their Conceptual Ideas into Digital Products with the help of Autodesk Fusion/Revit. Registered Students can give their design ideas a jump-start by sculpting their imagination and innovation with technical support from the best minds in the country.

Design remains a crucial discipline, even amid the disruptive changes driven by technology. It will continue to be a core human endeavour, fuelled by insights, ideas, passion, and the talents of individuals striving for progress. Innovation and creativity are the key ingredients of design, leading to scalable solutions that can transform every field in our nation.

India Design Week 2027 will bring together students to showcase their ideas for a better future through products developed using Autodesk Fusion and Revit.

A specific design theme will be revealed on the day of the event.

How It Works

The IDW 2027 Journey

Institution Registration

Colleges will be selected from each state (from North and South India separately)

Institutions must ensure that they meet the required Hardware and Software for this Event, and domain mail ID is mandatory

Faculty Workshop

Faculty Workshop

Faculties will learn Autodesk Fusion/Revit through 3-day workshops conducted directly at respective institutions and courses are to be completed

Mentors will provide a list of eligible students from 2nd year, pre-final & final year of Mechanical Engineering (including Automobile, Aeronautical, Agriculture, CAD/CAM, Bio-Medical) and Civil Engineering/Architecture streams

2 Mentors are mandatory for each training (Fusion/Revit) per college and all mentors must be present in the final IDW 2027

Workshops will be conducted by ICT Academy Certified Experts

Faculties have to train the registered students and make them ready for the Design Now Competition

Student Workshop

Students will learn Fusion/Revit through 3-day workshops conducted directly at their institution with 15 days gap between each workshop

Courses are to be completed after the end of each workshop. Completion is mandatory to attend the next day workshop with attendance

Workshops will be conducted by trained mentors from their institution

Activities & Assignments will be provided after each session which students need to complete to gain a certificate

Design Now Competition

1-Day exclusive competition conducted at each college. Top one team per college is selected

Students will present their design or submit online, evaluated by Jury panel based on Creativity, Design Specifications, Manufacturing Feasibility, Material Selection & Presentation

The best team from each college will compete in the IDW 2027 Grand Finale in their respective (South/North) zone

India Design Week 2027 Grand Finale

December 2027 ยท North & South India Zones

2 Inter-state level events (North and South India zones) will be conducted in the month of December 2027

Top teams will compete in a 24-hour challenge based on the problem statement provided

Teams will present their final design based on the provided theme

Top 3 teams from each zone selected by the jury panel will be recognised with Prizes

Special recognition will be given to teams that stand out in certain criteria

Pre-Requisite

System Configuration

PC/Laptop is mandated with functional Microphone and Webcam

Microsoft Windows 10 or above (Windows 11 recommended), or macOS Monterey (12.0) or later

CPU: 64-bit processor only supports Fusion installation (32-bit OS is not compatible, but Fusion can still be used via Browser mode)

Memory Size: Min 8 GB (16 GB or more recommended; 6 GB+ needed if relying on integrated graphics)

Connectivity: 5 Mbps internet bandwidth (10 Mbps recommended for cloud simulation/rendering)

Storage space: 5 GB free disk space recommended to install and run Fusion

Graphics Card: DirectX 11 (or greater) compatible, Min 1 GB VRAM, dedicated GPU recommended for smoother performance

Optical mouse with a functional keyboard

Students whose system already meets the above requirements are eligible to register for IDW 2027.
